Orthopedic trauma includes the injuries affecting Joints, Muscles, Tendons, Ligaments and Bones in any part of the body leading to restricted movement of the injured. Trauma may range from minor injuries to severely broken bones and associated parts. Trauma involves intervention of multi-disciplinary Consultants making sure the injured part of the body regains its original strength and maximum functionality.
There are different types of Orthopedic Trauma classified based on the body part affected and extremity of injury as upper (broken wrist/arm, collarbone & ribs), lower (broken ankle, hips or legs) and soft tissue (muscles, tendons and ligaments) respectively.
Most common symptoms include: swelling, tenderness, bleeding at times of skin breakout, bruising, restricted movement, numbness, nipping sensation, severe pain, shallow breathing associated with grinding, cracking, or snapping noise is heard at the time of the fall or accident.
